Thurber’s Desert-honeysuckle

Anisacanthus thurberi

Desert honeysuckle grows in desert washes, where it has become adapted to sandy soil, and that little bit of moisture it gets from growing near an ephemeral waterway. This shrub can be somewhat inconspicuous until it blooms at which point it becomes a real star.
