SUMMARY:Spring Plant Ramble at Catalina State Park\, Tucson
DESCRIPTION:SATURDAY MARCH 19\, 2022 at 8:00 am\nOpen field trip for all interested and vaccinated participants\nWhat spring plants will take the leap in this dry spring and flower?  We’ll take a relaxed plant ramble to see what we can find.  \nMeet at the information kiosk/donor mural at the trailhead near the parking lot at Catalina State Park at 8:00 am.  Park admission requires an annual pass or payment of a daily fee. \nWe’ll do a leisurely loop along the Sutherland Trail/Canyon Loop\, looking for spring plants and wildflowers.  The distance is about 2 miles\, and will involve crossing streams on rock stepping stones\, with the risk of getting your feet wet.  We will be out about 2.5 hours.

Next\, we’ll move onto Chapter announcements. \nThen\, we’ll feature a presentation by former Chapter President\, Cass Blodgett\, followed by Q&A. Cass will share his experiences growing a wide variety of native plants at home\, as well as tips and encouragement for those who want to give home horticulture a try! We’ll also learn about the generous donation of seed he gifted our Chapter. \nTo attend the March meeting\, please register in advance via via Zoom.
