Saturday, April 6, 9am-12 noon: the inauguration of our Takoi c Moho U’im (Desert Grasslands Habitat) exhibit at Mission Garden in Tucson
The exhibit name, translated as “Where we gather Yucca and Beargrass,” acknowledges and displays the higher desert grasslands habitat known to the original residents of S-cuk Ṣon, the O’odham village and present day site of Mission Garden. The event will include Basket Dancers from San Xavier, O’odham blessing, basketry demonstrations, speakers including grasslands author Jim Koweek, and refreshments.
