Join Borderlands Restoration Network on Saturday, October 15 for a tour of the BRN Seed Lab to learn about their seed lab operations and programs, then head out to the beautiful San Rafael Valley to learn about native grasses and their ethical seed collection protocols.
Participants will then help collect seeds that will be used in a local ecological restoration project to mitigate erosion and revegetate the landscape to support habitat in the foothills of the Santa Rita Mountains on public and private lands.
Participants should bring water and snacks, wear sun-protective gear, long pants, and sturdy shoes for walking across uneven terrain and be comfortable hiking short distances.
Seed collection equipment as well as snake gaiters and blaze orange safety vests will be provided. This opportunity is open to 15 participants.
