Description | A widespread temperate grass found in most of the U.S. and Canada. In Arizona this species may be seen in the northern and eastern portions of the state, especially by streams at higher elevations. This lovely perennial grass with its pink seedheads would look particularly attractive as a mass planting, or planted with other riparian species such as monkeyflower (Erythranthe guttata), cardinal flower (Lobelia cardinalis), and golden columbine (Aquelegia chrysantha). |
