| Description | A lovely small bunchgrass which grows in a clump, and which can be combined with other native grass and wildflower species for a meadow effect. Like many grasses the fibrous root system is good for erosion control. This species gets a nice purple color to the leaves and inflorescence (flowering head) in the late summer and early fall.
