Description | Grizzly bear prickly pear is truly an imposing looking plant. These stout cacti are covered in extremely dense clusters of tan spines which can be several inches long. Arising from the masses of spines are delicate pink or yellow blooms. As with most prickly pears these plants prefer a well draining gravelly/sandy soil type. A good species to include in a mixed cactus garden where its small stature lends itself to planting between large specimens. Plants are tolerant of extreme sun exposure and are quite drought tolerant. |
