Description | When spring rains are good, large areas of the deserts around Tucson and Phoenix come to life with bell shaped purple blooms. This is an annual which readily germinates with moisture and makes a good addition to beds of annual/perennial desert flowers. Be aware that the plants are covered in rough hairs which can be quite irritating to the skin so they are best sown away from walkways. |
