Description | A summer herb which germinates and grows with monsoon rains, This species can be prolific on grassy slopes in southeastern Arizona. The range of yerba porosa extends far down into the tropics and reaches its northern most limit in the sky islands along the border. However, due to its annual nature this plant could be grown in the summertime elsewhere in the state in herb beds, containers, or scattered into a planting of native shrubs. The flavor of the rounded leaves Is similar to cilantro, or rue and is used as a flavoring throughtout north, central, and south America. |
